Electromagnetic Controls
This course explains how solenoids, solenoid valves, contactors
and motor starters operate and are used in machine and motor control
applications. The operation of various solenoid valve and motor starter
circuits is explained in a very detailed “step by step” manner. Emphasis
is placed on the construction, testing and troubleshooting of both motor
power and control circuits.
Topics include solenoid operation, solenoid valves, contactors,
NEMA and IEC devices, bimetallic, magnetic, melting alloy and solid
state overload relays,
.Heater selection and full voltage starters. Reduced
voltage starters including primary resistor, autotransformer, wye-delta,
part winding and solid state are also covered. Additional topics include
selector switch jogging, pushbutton jogging, plugging, speed switches
and anti-plugging.
