Elements of Control Circuits
This course studies a wide range of pushbutton, mechanical,
photoelectric, timer, counter and other devices found in electrical
control circuits. Emphasis is placed on using wiring diagrams and voltage
testers to check, troubleshoot and repair interlock, latching, time
delay and other types of control circuits.
Topics include contact blocks, operators, legend plates,
selector switches, pilot lights, push to test circuits and mechanical
limit, proximity, photoelectric, temperature, flow and float switches.
Additional topics include locating ground faults, two and three wire
control, relay construction and operation, contact configurations,
testing coils and contacts, terminal identification, on-off time delay
contacts, reset timers and counters.
