PLC Hardware Configurations
This course surveys various PLC hardware configurations and
outlines procedures for assembling, maintaining and troubleshooting
PLCs. Analog, digital and other types of I/O modules are introduced
along with procedures for the safe handling of ESD sensitive components.
Emphasis is placed on the selection, installation and troubleshooting
of the PLC power supply component along with noise, surge suppression,
isolation and grounding considerations.
Topics include integral and modular configurations, chassis
& module placement, module keying, electrostatic discharge and
battery replacement, power supply functions, connections, overload
protection, power conditioning, grounding, main power disconnects,
MCR safety circuits and troubleshooting.
