PLC Processor Operations & Programming
This course covers the operation and programming of the processor
component in a PLC. The five basic operations of all processors are
examined including input scan, solving the program logic, output scan,
communications service and housekeeping. Emphasis is placed on PLC programming
and using diagnostic
hardware and software tools to clear faults.
Topics include processor functions, scan time, binary, octal
and hexadecimal number systems, addressing, communication ports, error
codes, processor status files and error recovery. Additional topics
include rung continuity, power flow and relay, timer, counter, data movement,
math, bit and flow control instructions.
